When to take pregnancy blood test after missed period?
My period is 3 days late and the home strip showed a very faint line, so im thinking of getting the blood test done to be sure. Just not sure if its too early to go now or i should wait a few more days. Anyone know the right time?
The blood test is more sensitive than the home kit, so once your period is missed it'll show clearly. Many do a urine test first then confirm with blood. No need to rush the day after the missed date, give it a couple days.
My doctor said the blood beta hcg test can actually detect pregnancy even a few days before a missed period, earlier than urine kits. After a missed period it's very reliable. She suggested doing it once the period is missed and then a scan a bit later.
