Doc gave me a due date but im confused how to count backwards and figure out when baby was actually conceived. My cycles are also a bit irregular. Anyone knows how to calculate this?
My mother said to look at the star signs, but my doctor explained that conception happens around your ovulation day. The dating scan done in the hospital around 8-12 weeks is the most reliable way to find out the baby's gestational age. Trust your gynac's calculations.
Arrey, don't stress too much about the exact date! Unless you were tracking ovulation like a hawk, it's hard to pin point. It generally happens mid-cycle, about two weeks after your last period started. Just enjoy the phase!
When I asked my gynac at the hospital, she explained that doctors calculate the pregnancy from the first day of your last period (LMP), not the actual day of conception. You can ask your scan doctor during the dating ultrasound for the most accurate developmental age.
Simple logic, think about your last period date and add 2 weeks to it—that's usually when conception happens. There are also free online conception calculators where you just put your LMP and cycle length. No need to stress over the exact day!
Since we did IVF, we knew the exact minute of transfer, but for natural conception, it usually happens around your ovulation window. This is typically 12 to 14 days after the first day of your last period. I sending you so much love and positive thoughts on this journey.
I have no clue of the exact day, I was probably busy dreaming about pani puri! But seriously, conception usually happens during your fertile window, about 10-14 days after your last period. Your doctor will calculate it easily based on your scans.
