Just curious about this, im in my second trimester now. My MIL keeps saying it starts early but i havent noticed anything yet. When did it begin for you all?
For me the first yellowish stuff (colostrum) started leaking lightly around 7 months. For some it comes earlier, some only after delivery. All of it is normal, dont compare timelines.
Beta dont press or squeeze to check, let it be natural. Milk fully comes after the baby arrives and starts sucking, thats what triggers it. Eat well n rest, the body knows what to do.
Real milk comes after baby is born, usually 2-3 days post delivery. During pregnancy what u may notice is colostrum, that thick yellow drop, sometime in last trimester. Both pregnancies mine started around 8th month.
My doctor explained the body starts making colostrum from second trimester but most women only see leaking later or not at all till delivery. She said no leaking during pregnancy is also completely fine, supply comes once feeding starts.
I didnt leak anything during pregnancy and worried. After my c-section milk took about 3-4 days to really come in. The hospital lactation didi helped me a lot. So pls dont panic if nothing happens before delivery.
