Which food to eat during first trimester of pregnancy?
Just found out im pregnant, around 6 weeks. I want to start eating right from day one but with all the nausea i barely know what to keep down. What did u all eat in the first trimester?
Focus on dal, roti, sabzi, fruits, eggs, milk, nuts. Small frequent meals work better than big ones because of the nausea. And drink lots of water. Dont skip your folic acid tablet, thats the key one.
Honestly in trimester one I survived on toast, bananas, curd and khichdi because everything else made me gag. Eat bland and light, dont force fancy healthy food if it wont stay in. It gets better.
Home food is best na, idli, rice, sambar, fruits, milk. My mother kept giving me small portions often. Just eat nutritious and what your tummy accepts, and take the folic acid your doctor gave.
You dont need expensive stuff at all. Seasonal fruits, eggs, dal, green veggies, peanuts, milk, all cheap and great. The only must buy is the folic acid your gynac prescribes. Simple ghar ka khana does the job.
My doctor stressed folic acid foods in the first trimester, so leafy greens, dals, citrus and your prenatal. Keep it simple and home cooked. With nausea I just ate whatever stayed down, dont stress about perfect meals early on.
