We are planning to conceive next year and want to sort the insurance side first because hospital costs are so high now. Heard most policies have a waiting period for maternity. Can anyone suggest which one actually covers delivery well, your real experience pls.
Honestly check if your office group policy already covers maternity first, mine did and it saved a lot. If not, then look at individual plans but mind the waiting period. Read the fine print on room rent caps and delivery limits, thats where the costs sneak in.
The big thing to check is the maternity waiting period, most policies make you wait 2 to 4 years before maternity cover kicks in. So plan well in advance, dont buy it after conceiving expecting cover. Compare the maternity sub-limits and what tests/scans are included.
When we planned, I called the hospital billing desk and asked which insurers they have cashless tie-ups with, that made it smoother. Also confirm the policy covers your chosen hospital. Asking the hospital staff directly saved us surprises later.
