So many types of scans being suggested and im totally lost which one actually matters most. First pregnancy so dont know much. Can someone tell which scans are really important?
It is not one best scan, there are different ones at different times, all ultrasounds. Dating scan early, anomaly scan around 20 weeks, growth scans later. Your doctor will tell you which and when.
My gynac said ultrasound is the standard and safest for pregnancy, no radiation. There are specific ones like the NT scan, anomaly scan and growth scans at different stages. The doctor schedules the right one for each phase.
Just a tip, the anomaly scan is a bit costly so plan for it. I did all my scans at a good diagnostic centre cheaper than the hospital, doctor was fine with that. Ask your gynac which are really needed to avoid extra ones.
