My doc mentioned the word high risk in passing and now im a little tense. Im 35 and this is my first baby. What all things make a pregnancy high risk actually?
I don't know much about the medical side of this, but during my pregnancy, I had gestational diabetes and thyroid issues, so my doctor treated it as high risk. I had to go for scans every two weeks towards the end. Everything turned out perfectly fine for me, so just stay in touch with your doctor.
I totally understand how scary the word 'high risk' sounds when you hear it from a doctor, it can make you cry with worry. Usually, things like thyroid, high sugar, being over 35, or carrying twins put you in this category. But please take heart, sweetheart, it just means you get extra love and care from your medical team!
I just delivered my baby two months ago, and because of my high BP and age, my pregnancy was labeled high risk. It basically means the doctors just monitor you more closely with extra scans and tests. Don't worry too much, as long as you follow the doctor's instructions, you will bring your healthy baby home!
I'm in my 3rd trimester now, waddling around like a duck, and carrying twins made me 'high risk' on day one! Honestly, age over 35, thyroid, or blood pressure issues can also get you this fancy title. It basically just means your wallet will be lighter from all the extra ultrasounds, haha!
My little one is a naughty toddler now, but back then, my pregnancy was high risk because of my history of miscarriages and high blood pressure. I used to lose sleep over it, but looking back, I realize it's very manageable with regular checkups. Just stay happy, eat well, and trust your gynac!
