Just found out im pregnant, maybe 5-6 weeks, and im getting these mild cramps on and off like period pain. Its making me a little nervous tbh. Is this normal in the beginning? what causes it?
My doctor said mild cramps early on are usually from the uterus stretching and the implantation settling in, very common. She told me light period like twinges are okay. But she warned me to call if cramps are severe, one sided, or with bleeding.
I felt those little cramps early and got so scared something was wrong. Turned out it was just normal stretching and everything was fine. But I did call my gynac for reassurance and I am glad I did.
I know how frightening any cramp feels, especially after what I went through. Mild ones are often normal, but please dont sit in worry, just ring your gynac whenever something feels off. Better to ask than to stress alone, take care.
Light cramping is normal in early weeks, the body is making space for baby. Rest and stay hydrated. If it gets sharp, heavy, or comes with bleeding, dont wait, call your doctor.
