This is my first pregnancy and my doctor has already scheduled few scans. I dont fully understand what they check each time na. Can someone explain why so many are needed?
My doctor explained ultrasounds check the babys growth, position, heartbeat, fluid levels and dates. There are usually a few key ones across the trimesters. They are routine and reassuring, so go for whatever your gynac schedules.
Scans confirm the due date, check baby development and the placenta and fluid. Both my pregnancies had a handful of them at set stages. Its all standard monitoring, nothing to worry about.
I felt so emotional at every scan, seeing the heartbeat and tiny movements was magical. They also check everything is growing well. Honestly I looked forward to each one yaar.
