My gynac asked me to get an ECG done at my last visit and now im a little tense thinking kahi koi problem to nahi. I feel fine otherwise. Is this a routine test in pregnancy or do they only ask when something is wrong?
When I was ghar pe with mummy and papa, my gynac also asked for an ECG. Papa asked the doc and he said it's a routine check. Pregnancy makes the heart work extra hard, so they just want to be sure everything is fine for you and baby, no big deal actually.
An ECG during pregnancy is quite standard for many women. Your blood volume increases significantly, and your heart works harder. It's done to check for any underlying heart conditions or to ensure your heart can handle the increased workload during pregnancy and delivery. Don't stress, it's a proactive step.
Oh, I had one too! My doc just said it was a routine check to see how my heart is doing with the extra blood volume that pregnancy creates. Did your doctor explain it to you, or is it still a bit unclear?
I totally get why you'd ask this, I had so much anxiety during my pregnancy too, every test felt like a big deal. Usually, an ECG is done to check your heart's health. Pregnancy puts extra strain on your heart, so docs want to make sure everything's okay and safe for you and baby.
I remember having an ECG done! It felt like so many tests, right? But it's really just to be safe. Your heart is working overtime during pregnancy to pump blood for two, so doctors like to make sure it's strong enough. It's a normal precaution they take.
