My doctor asked for ECG before a procedure and I got nervous seeing heart test written. I dont have any heart issue as far as I know. Is ECG a routine check for some pregnant women?
Don't panic seeing it on the list. ECG is a quick, harmless test they do to check your heart is ready for delivery. Very routine before a C-section especially. If you're unsure, just ask the doctor and they'll explain calmly.
They sometimes do an ECG if there's BP, thyroid or any palpitation type complaint, just to be safe. I had thyroid and they kept a closer eye on a few things. Best to ask your gynac why they advised it for you specifically, the reason is usually simple.
