noticed my stool has gone really dark almost black since a few days and it freaked me out. im on my iron tablets daily, wondering if thats the reason or something else. anyone else dealt with this?
Usually its iron tablets, very common. But I will say, if u are NOT on iron and its black, or if its sticky tar like, mention to your doctor since that can mean something from the stomach. With iron though, its expected.
Dont worry beta, the iron medicine they give does this. As long as u r taking iron its fine. If anything feels off otherwise just check with your gynac at the next visit.
Most likely your iron tablets. Iron supplements turn the poop dark, almost black, totally normal and happens to nearly everyone on them. Mine was the same in both pregnancies, dont panic.
Actually its the iron pills yaar, I got the same shock first time and called my doc. She laughed and said its normal from iron. Nothing to worry unless u arent on iron and its happening, then ask.
