My reports showed a UTI this time and i was surprised because i never had this issue before pregnancy. Why does it happen more now? just trying to understand so i can be more careful.
My gynac told me UTIs are more common in pregnancy because the hormones and the growing uterus slow down urine flow a bit. She said that's why they keep checking urine at every visit. If u feel burning or pain while peeing, get tested fast because untreated UTI is not good in pregnancy.
I had a UTI in my 5th month and it really needs proper treatment, please dont ignore it. Drink lots of water but still go to the doctor. Mine got better quickly once treated but I learnt not to delay.
Actually staying hydrated and not holding pee for long helps prevent it, I learnt that the hard way while working long hours. The moment u feel any burning, just do the urine test, dont wait for the weekend. Quick action saves a lot of trouble.
