I've heard some stories about women getting pregnant but still having a period-like bleeding. Is it really possible to conceive and continue to have your period normally? I'm a bit confused.

My period is a few days late and im itching to test. Whats the right time to do it so the result is correct? Dont want a false answer and get my hopes up.
