Can makhane be eaten during first trimester of pregnancy?
My mom keeps telling me to snack on makhane saying its good, but someone said be careful in first trimester. Im 8 weeks now and bit confused. Is it really fine to have daily?
I felt so nauseous in my first trimester and couldn't digest anything, but makhana was the only thing that felt light on my stomach. It was such a lifesaver for me.
It's a great guilt-free fitness snack! I used to have a handful after my light morning walks, of course keeping my activity levels as advised by my doctor.
Makhana is a wonderful snack because it is rich in calcium and low in fat. Just dry roast them with a little ghee and jeera powder, it's very gentle on the stomach.
As someone with PCOS, I had to watch my snack options, and makhana was perfect because of its low glycemic index. It's safe, but just eat it in moderate quantities.
Yes, absolutely! I lived on roasted makhana during my first trimester, and now my toddler also loves munching on them. They are extremely safe and healthy.
My mother told me to eat roasted makhana for strength, and my gynac also agreed it is an excellent source of calcium. You can definitely include it in your diet.
