Im 8 weeks along and feeling a bit shy to ask this but it's been on my mind. I dont know if it can harm the baby this early or cause anything. Will bring it up with my doc also but wanted to hear honestly from others first.
Dont stress about this one, its a really common question women are just too shy to ask. In a healthy pregnancy its generally fine. If anything feels off like cramps or bleeding after, then call your doctor. Otherwise relax.
Its a normal question, dont feel awkward. Generally in an uncomplicated pregnancy it doesnt harm the baby. The only time to be careful is if your doctor has told you to avoid intimacy for any reason. If unsure, just ask them privately.
From what my doctor told me, in a normal low risk pregnancy this is generally not a problem. But if you have any spotting, pain, or a high risk pregnancy, then she said to be cautious and ask first. Best to clarify with your own gynac about your specific case, no shame in asking them.
Because I had a high risk pregnancy, my doctor had asked me to avoid anything that could cause cramping. So it really depends on your situation. If yours is normal it is usually okay, but if you have any history or symptoms, please confirm with your gynac first.
