My wife is 4 months pregnant and on h4 visa, we are planning her travel to india for delivery near family. Just not sure about the visa side and travel during pregnancy. Anyone done this before? pls share how it went.
She can travel, but please keep US healthcare costs in mind! Make sure her health insurance in the US is active from day one and covers pregnancy, as maternity costs there are extremely high. Plan the medical expenses and tests carefully before traveling.
My MIL was totally against me flying during my pregnancy, but my doctor cleared me for a short trip. If she is flying to the US on H4, just make sure she carries home-cooked dry snacks and takes enough rest during layovers. Family blessings are with her!
Legally, there is no issue traveling on an H4 visa during pregnancy. However, my doctor said long-haul flights to the US are safest during the second trimester (weeks 14 to 28). Make sure to get a 'Fit to Fly' certificate from her gynac before booking the tickets.
Oh, long flights during pregnancy make me so nervous! Please make sure she stays super hydrated, wears compression socks, and gets a thorough scan done right before flying. What if she faces any emergencies mid-air? Better to have all doctor reports handy.
Travel on H4 is perfectly fine from an immigration standpoint. Medically, she should avoid flying after 36 weeks of pregnancy as most airlines won't allow it. Just get her gynac's clearance, carry all her prenatal records, and keep some basic safe medications handy.
It can be emotionally tough to relocate to a new country like the US while pregnant. She can definitely travel on H4, but please support her emotionally as she will miss home during this beautiful phase. Wishing her a very safe and comfortable flight!
She can travel easily, but long flights can be very tiring for a pregnant body. I traveled early in my pregnancy and had to take frequent walks in the aisle to avoid leg swelling. Keep her comfortable, let her rest well, and consult her gynac before flying.
