Im in my third trimester and someone told me breast massage helps prepare for feeding later. Honestly i have no idea how to do it properly or when to start. pls share how u all did it.
I felt so unsure about this too in my first pregnancy. My doc said just gentle oil massage for the dryness, nothing fancy. It did help with the soreness and made me feel a bit more ready.
Light moisturising massage is okay mainly to handle dryness and that itchy stretching feeling. Dont press hard or squeeze. Honestly most prep happens after baby comes, dont stress about it now.
Keep it gentle beta, just soft strokes with any mild oil to ease the dryness. Avoid heavy pressure or pulling. And do mention it at ur next visit so the doctor can guide as per ur stage.
Bit of caution, nipple stimulation can sometimes trigger contractions, so if u r high risk or near due date, please check with ur doctor before doing any massage. Better to be sure than sorry.
I did very gentle massage with coconut oil in the last weeks just to keep skin soft and ready for feeding. Soft circular strokes, nothing rough near the nipple. But ask ur gynac first, sometimes too much nipple stimulation isnt advised late in pregnancy.
