I got admitted for dehydration and they put me on dextrose drip. Im 14 weeks and now im wondering if its ok for the baccha. Anyone else had this during pregnancy?
Mummy always preferred natural things like nimbu paani or coconut water for energy. Dextrose is fine if you are very weak, but ghar ka fresh juices and glucose are much better and safer.
Actually, my doctor suggested a dextrose drink for the glucose test and I was so worried if it's safe for the baby. Did anyone else get a sugar spike or feel dizzy after taking it?
I am so tired in this 9th month that I feel like putting dextrose directly into my veins for some energy! But jokes apart, it is safe, just don't overdo it or you'll get a massive baby to push out.
Unless you have gestational diabetes, a little dextrose or glucose powder in water is totally fine for quick energy. I had sweet cravings anyway, so I preferred sweet lime juice over chemical powders!
I used to panic about every single ingredient in my food. Dextrose is just glucose, so it's safe, but I still checked with my doctor twice before having any energy drink. It's okay to ask your doctor to ease your mind.
When I was vomiting constantly in my first trimester, my gynac actually put me on dextrose IV fluids because I couldn't keep water down. It was a lifesaver for my dehydration, but only take it if doctor advises.
Dextrose is basically pure glucose, which is standard treatment for dehydration in hospitals. It is perfectly safe, but unless a doctor prescribes it for dehydration or testing, you don't need to take it randomly.
Yes dear, dextrose is safe and often used in hospitals for hydration or during glucose tolerance tests. Just don't take it regularly as a supplement without asking your doctor, especially if you have sugar issues.
I had to be extremely careful because of my PCOS insulin resistance. I avoided any extra dextrose or glucose unless my doctor specifically ordered it for tests. Better to be safe.
When I had long office hours and felt completely drained, I sometimes had glucose water. But honestly, carrying a box of dry fruits and an apple is a much better way to keep energy levels up during work.
