My gynac has given me a bunch of tablets, iron, calcium, folic acid and all. Honestly i hate taking so many pills daily and i feel a bit nauseous after. Are all of them really must or can some be skipped? just curious what others were told.
My doctor said the basics like folic acid, iron and calcium are really important because diet alone often cant meet the higher needs in pregnancy. Folic acid especially helps the baby develop properly. So yes the prescribed ones matter, dont skip them, but only what your gynac gives.
I struggled to keep tablets down with my nausea early on, felt like skipping. My doctor adjusted the timing so I took them after food at night, much easier. So yes they matter, but talk to your gynac if they upset your tummy.
The prescribed iron, calcium and folic acid are genuinely needed, not extra spending, so dont skip those. If brand cost worries you, ask your doctor for an affordable equivalent. But please dont stop them to save money, they protect you and baby.
The supplements your gynac prescribes, yes take them regularly, folic acid, iron, calcium. They are not random medicines, they fill the gaps diet cant. Dont add anything on your own though, just stick to the doctors list.
