Im running a slight fever and a headache since morning and im 14 weeks. I dont want to take anything without being sure. Will check with my doctor but just wanted to know what others were told about this.
Paracetamol is the go to allowed one, much safer than the other painkillers in pregnancy. Just stick to the dose your doctor told and dont take it for days on end without telling her. For a one off fever or headache its fine.
Paracetamol is generally the one painkiller doctors do allow in pregnancy, mine told me i could take it for fever or bad headache. But she said only the right dose and not regularly, and to call her if fever was high or not coming down. So safe yes, but still check with your doc for the dose.
It is usually considered the safer option compared to other painkillers, but please dont self decide. Always run it by your gynac first, especially the amount and how often. Other medicines like brufen are a no, so dont swap on your own.
I took it a couple of times for fever after my doctor okayed it, no issues. Since i was already on other meds for thyroid, i made it a point to ask before adding anything. Best habit is just confirm with your gynac each time, takes one minute.
