Is jaggery good during first trimester of pregnancy?
I love having jaggery, especially with my chai or some sweets. My mother-in-law says it's good for me, but I am in my first trimester, so I wanted to check if it's okay to consume.
In my home, my MIL strictly told me to avoid jaggery till the third month because of its warm nature. After that, she actually gave me gur and ghee for strength. Sometimes following family advice just keeps everyone happy and stress-free.
Look, having a small piece of gur once in a while is totally fine and doesn't cause any harm. But don't eat it in large amounts daily during the first trimester. Keep things in moderation and you'll be absolutely good.
After my previous loss, I became extremely cautious about everything, especially 'hot' foods like jaggery and papaya in the first trimester. I chose to completely avoid it until my second trimester. Just to be safe, maybe wait a bit or consult your doctor.
Please be careful with jaggery if you have a family history of diabetes or high sugar. Even though it is natural, it still spikes blood sugar levels just like normal sugar. I had to monitor my diet strictly, so I'd say skip it or keep it very minimal.
I felt so confused about eating gur in my first trimester because my mom said yes but internet said no. Eventually I just had very tiny pieces with my paratha sometimes and felt completely fine. It really depends on how your body reacts.
With my twins, my cravings were crazy but I kept jaggery to a minimum because of the whole 'heat' theory. Honestly, a tiny bite won't hurt, but don't eat bowls of it! Pregnancy is already exhausting, no need to add extra stress.
Humare yahan to pehle teen mahine thoda parhez hi rakhte hain garam cheezon se. Aap thoda sa kha sakti hain taste ke liye, par jyada mat lijiye. Apna dhyan rakho aur acche se khao peeyo.
Haan, humare North mein to bolte hain ki gur thoda garam hota hai shuruat mein. Par agar thoda sa chai mein ya aise hi kha liya to koi dikkat nahi hai na. Bas limits mein khao aur tension mat lo.
From what I learned during my journey, moderation is key. A little bit of jaggery is actually good for iron, but in the first trimester, it's best not to overdo it. Just eat simple, freshly cooked home meals.
Some elders say jaggery creates heat in the body, so I avoided it in my first trimester. It is always safer to ask your gynac before adding such things to your daily diet. Better to be cautious in these early weeks.
