I'm veg and started eating soya chunks for protein since my doc said increase it. But somewhere I read soya is not good in pregnancy and now im confused. Is it actually ok or no? im in 2nd trimester.
Soya contains phytoestrogens, so some people are a bit cautious about it. To be absolutely safe, please ask your gynac about how much quantity is okay for your specific body. Every pregnancy is different, so checking with your doctor is always best.
Honestly, soya is fine but right now I can barely think of cooking anything because my baby won't let me sleep for more than an hour! If you have the energy to cook soya, go for it. It's good protein, just eat whatever is easily made.
Haha, yes! Unless you plan on eating a whole sack of soya beans daily, you are completely fine. Eat those soya chunks in your biryani and stop stressing your brain, baby needs a happy mom, not a worried researcher!
Soya is awesome for protein, especially if you are vegetarian! 😊 I used to make yummy soya cutlets with less oil for my evening snacks. Just don't overeat it daily, balance is key! 👍
According to my pregnancy tracker app, soya is an excellent source of plant-based protein, iron, and folate. I used to log my meals daily to track my nutrients. Just limit processed soy products and stick to natural soya chunks or edamame.
I am in my 18th week and actually had some soya curry yesterday, but then I started worrying if the hormones in it are safe. Did anyone else eat soya regularly in their second trimester without any issues? Pls let me know, I get anxious so easily.
I have heard from my elder sisters that soya is very rich in protein, which is good when you are planning. I am trying to include more healthy options like this in my diet these days. Hopefully it helps us prepare well.
I felt so relieved when I found out soya chunks are safe because I was struggling to meet my protein goals as a vegetarian. It made me so emotional thinking if I was feeding my baby enough. I had soya pulao almost every week and felt great!
In our house, my mother-in-law was a bit hesitant about soya bean during pregnancy. But when I asked my gynac, she said having it 1-2 times a week is perfectly healthy for protein. So I made soya stir-fry occasionally and enjoyed it.
