I usually include sprouts in my diet, but now that I'm pregnant, I'm being extra cautious with food. Are sprouts generally considered safe and healthy to eat during pregnancy?
Sprouts are great, but don't eat them raw unless you want a free ticket to the bathroom! Just steam them well, add a little lemon, and you're good to go.
I loved sprouts but I always made sure to boil or steam them thoroughly before eating. Raw ones can sometimes cause stomach infections, so I avoided raw salads.
Since I had to manage my glucose and PCOS, sprouts were great for protein. I just pressure cooked them with a bit of salt and turmeric to be 100% safe.
They are super rich in protein, but please cook them properly. Raw sprouts can have bacteria, so making a hot sprouts khichdi or steaming them is much safer.
