Im 16 weeks and woke up feeling warm and a bit off today. Got a little scared and want to understand why fever happens in pregnancy. Planning to call my gynac if it doesnt settle, but curious what others experienced.
My doctor said fever usually means some infection, often viral or urinary, and the body fighting it. She told me to inform her if fever crossed a certain level rather than self treating. So I always checked before taking anything.
Fever can be from a common infection like cold or urine infection, but in pregnancy I never ignored it. High fever especially needs a doctor check soon. Please dont take random medicine, call your gynac if it goes up or stays.
Most often it is just a small infection dear, nothing to panic about. But a high or persistent fever in pregnancy should be seen by the doctor quickly. Rest, fluids, and get it checked if it climbs.
