My gynac mentioned i'll need an anti d injection because of my blood group and now im a bit confused what exactly it does. She did explain but i was nervous and forgot half of it. Can someone who took it tell me a little more pls?
My report said I'm Rh negative and the doctor mentioned this injection, I got a bit nervous. Did others with negative blood take it too? Good to know it's a normal protective thing.
My doctor explained it's given when the mother is Rh negative and baby could be Rh positive, to stop the body from making antibodies that harm future pregnancies. I got it because my blood group was negative. She gave it at a set time and after delivery too, totally routine.
It's for Rh negative moms basically, to protect the baby and future pregnancies. I had it both times since my group is negative. If your blood type is negative, your gynac will plan it, nothing to fear.
