Saw this written on my scan report and the doc just nodded n moved on. I didnt want to keep asking so came here. What does it actually mean and what number is considered good?
FHR shows up a lot on those tracker apps na. It's the fetal heart rate, usually written next to the scan results. I used to note mine down each visit, kind of comforting to see it steady around 140.
FHR is basically fetal heart rate yaar, the baby's heartbeat. My doc told me normal range is around 110 to 160 beats per minute. They check it on the scan and later with that doppler thing at every visit, so don't worry too much about the exact number.
Oh I was so confused by this word too when I saw it on my report. Did anyone else feel like their baby's heart was beating really fast at the scan? Mine was around 150 and I panicked but the doctor said it's totally fine.
It just means fetal heart rate. With both my kids they check it every appointment. Honestly the moment you hear that little dhak dhak on the monitor you will forget all the tension, it's the best sound.
It is the baby heartbeat reading. My amma used to say if heart is beating strong baby is happy, but really the doctor reads the number properly. First time I heard it on doppler I just cried happily.
Yes it's the baby's heart rate. If you ever feel something looks off on your report or the number seems very different, please just ask your gynac directly. They explain it properly and put your mind at ease.
