What should be the cervix length during pregnancy?
My scan report has cervix length written and I dont know if the number is good. Doctor did not seem worried but I forgot to ask. What length did your reports show?
I went down a rabbit hole googling this and only scared myself. Please just ask your doctor what your scan showed and whether its normal for your stage. They will tell you straight, and that peace of mind is worth more than random numbers.
This is something only your gynac should track through scans, please dont go by numbers online. I had a short cervix in my pregnancy and my doctor monitored it closely and took steps. If yours is being checked, follow her advice exactly.
My doctor explained that around mid pregnancy they like to see the cervix on the longer side, and a short one needs extra care. But the exact number depends on your week and case, so the scan and your gynac are what matter, not a general figure.
This isnt something to self assess yaar. The sonologist measures it on the scan and your gynac tells you if its okay. If they havent flagged anything, it usually means its fine. Ask her directly for your reading.
