This is my first pregnancy and every auntie is giving a new avoid list. Some things sound practical and some are just scary. I want to know the common things people actually avoid.
After my C-section, my gynac specifically told me to avoid lifting anything heavy for a few months, not just during pregnancy but after too. So no heavy lifting at all, it puts too much strain. Rest is very important, trust me!
Yaar, honestly, for me, avoiding sleep was the biggest mistake! Also, avoiding my cravings was impossible, so I just tried to eat everything in moderation. My poor husband had to run around finding weird food at midnight, haha.
Mere experience mein, I avoided all outside street food and anything that felt too spicy or oily. Just stuck to ghar ka khaana as much as possible. Aur haan, no alcohol or caffeine for sure.
Because I had some complications, my doctor gave me a very strict list. Definitely avoid smoking, alcohol, and raw fish. But also, avoid stress as much as possible, and don't hesitate to call your gynac for any little doubt you have. Better to ask than guess.
Haha, seems like the list of things to avoid is longer than the list of things to do! But seriously, just common sense stuff like no smoking, no drinking. And maybe avoid google-ing every little symptom, it just makes you more stressed!
Please, please be extra cautious with everything. Avoid raw or undercooked foods completely, and always check with your doctor about any medication or even herbal supplements. It's better to be overly safe than to regret later. Take care.
